When the Australian Dairy Corporation decided to change their logo with a particular eye to being recognized outside of Australia, research confirmed that a kangaroo would work better than a cow. I had the particular pleasure of being a junior member of Mark Cambridge’s team at Optima. It was 1986 and I was in the vanguard of using the Macintosh in commercial design in Melbourne, Australia. The logo, which uses my hand-drawn version of Berling Bold, is still in use.
